As writers, we spend our life daydreaming, writing, procrastinating, screaming into the void, writing some more, editing, googling the simplest of words (or the deadliest poisons), editing again… then comes the submitting part, where we need to get organised and create spreadsheets to keep track of the latest subs, before receiving a gazillion rejections along with the occasional acceptance that feels like an early Christmas present.
A while back, Sheldon Lee Compton created Poverty House and invited writers to upload whatever they wanted whenever they wanted. It was the most liberating experience to be a part of his Unexpected Blogging Collective. Knowing that any piece we wrote could potentially have a home if we wanted it to, brought the joy back into writing.
Following his example, we wish to offer a place for women writers we love to express themselves freely, to roar.
